IN LIGHT OF THE COVID-19 HEALTH CRISIS, ALL NYC SENIOR CENTERS ARE CLOSED. GRAB-AND-GO MEALS ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE AT SENIOR CENTERS.
JASA provides nutritious and life sustaining meals to seniors who are unable to shop or cook for themselves. Each year, JASA provides over 1 million meals, served in group settings at our Senior Centers or delivered to the homes of homebound seniors through our Home-Delivered Meals programs.
Seniors gather daily at JASA's 22 Senior Centers throughout New York City to enjoy both kosher and non-kosher hot, nutritious lunches and good conversation. Some of our centers also provide a healthy breakfast. JASA also offers these clients practical advice from trained nutritionists.
HOW CAN I GET A MEAL?
As of March 31st, JASA Senior Centers will no longer provide "Grab-and-Go" meals based on the Department for the Aging's (DFTA) directives. DFTA instead has instituted a Centralized Meal Delivery system. Multiple meals now will be sent directly to the homes of older adults weekly. If you have not registered with one of JASA's Senior Centers in the past but would like to receive meals, please call the JASA Senior Center closest to you. If you do not live close to a JASA Senior Center, please consult this page to identify your local senior center:
By providing delivery of nutritious and well-balanced meals, JASA ensures that our clients who are confined to their homes are receiving the vital nourishment necessary to be physically healthy and mentally alert. Kosher meals are available upon request. Through JASA's Case Management Program, potential clients are individually assessed and evaluated.
