The Sundays at JASA Lunch Lecture Series has been a mainstay of our program for many years. Norma Mosheim was the curator of this program and defined the series for what it is today. In 2021, she passed away, and in honor of her impact on Sundays at JASA and our community, we are renaming this series to the Norma Mosheim Lunch Lecture Series. Norma was completely devoted to the lecture series, putting in countless hours to find the most interesting guest lecturers for seniors.
Born and raised in New York City, she was the perfect conduit to research and obtain wonderful lecturers over the years. No stone was ever too heavy to turn in pursuit of finding the perfect lecture to “pack the place” or “get a mob.” Over the years, Norma has brought so many luminaries from the literary, art, political, entertainment and intellectual New York City community to provide lectures on Sundays. In her honor, Sundays at JASA are committed to building upon her legacy to host amazing lectures for years to come.

Throughout our lives, especially as we get older, our bodies don't work quite the same way they used to. Regular activities such as exercise, work, and child care contribute to new aches and pains. So what happens when that small bothersome ache turns into something more than just a nuisance? That brings me to the field of Pain Management. Pain Management is a branch of medicine dealing specifically with ways in which to manage pain through the use of modern medicine, therapy, education, and lifestyle modification. With the proper diagnosis and treatment plan, pain can be easily controlled.
