Working with Service Providers to Improve Elder Justice Services to the LGBT Community

This workshop will focus on elder abuse in the LGBTQ community including fraud, scams and ID theft cases. The presentation will include effective strategies for conducting outreach through developing culturally appropriate education and publicity campaigns.  We will also focus on intervention strategies that are designed to meet the specific needs of this underserved community. Group discussion of case examples will provide hands- on learning opportunities for honing skills to meet the needs of LGBTQ older adults.
