Dear Friend,

I write to you with mixed emotions. I was so excited to share our 2019 Impact Report with you, and all the stories of seniors finding joy and comfort in life's milestones and challenges by coming together. And yet the pictures and stories are a sobering reminder of what COVID-19 has taken away from so many of us.

Next year's report will look very different - we might not see seniors coming together for trips and parties for quite a while. Support groups may continue to meet over the phone rather than in-person. Arts and cultural programming may continue to be offered only online for the foreseeable future.

The world will have changed, and JASA will have changed with it, finding new ways to deliver services and remain the safety net that older New Yorkers have trusted for more than 50 years. And I know what we will see - dedicated staff continuing on the front lines to deliver meals, home care, and essential services to keep seniors safe in their homes. We will see resilience and different pathways to connection and community.

I hope you'll take a few moments to look through it and see what a difference you've made to the 40,000 clients we serve. You made this possible, and I hope you'll be proud of what we've accomplished together.
